Yesterday I had the most magical morning at a truly beautiful toy shop in Castle Donington. I met Julie a few weeks ago after being given her contact details from a friend (Thank you Emily and Rachael!) and I was delighted to find that she seemed to like my work just as much as I liked her shop! We quickly agreed to set a date to try out a children's illustration workshop, and with Christmas just around the corner, it seemed an ideal time to try out Christmas card making to coincide with the recent launch of my book The Greatest Cake. The session ran from 10am-12noon upstairs in their wonderful workshop, where children of all ages and their parents dropped by to make cards and other crafts. It really was a lovely way to spend the morning, and I was pleased to see it became a warm, happy, creative space for everybody involved. I even found time to do a bit of storytelling! I would like to say a big thank you to Julie and Kirsty for welcoming me into their little community, and for everybody who joined in and bought a book or card. Every sale really does mean a lot to me and I look forward to returning to this wonderful place for more workshops. My children's book, greetings cards, Christmas cards and calendars are all available to purchase from The Olive Branch.
